  What’s the story behind the name?
  We really liked the idea of creating a place where the creators (and owners) of the work we feature, feel like they are part of the special few – the most refined. ‘The Refined’ seemed to articulate this idea succinctly and clearly, it was short and catchy and tied in nicely with the name of our design studio – Refinery. Our feedback on the name has so far been extremely positive, so we are extremely happy with our choice.

  Why start a blog?
  Our studio has been collecting design inspiration and archiving it on our server for years, its how we start each day. The concept of publishing our daily discoveries on a blog to share, as opposed to hiding them away in a folder – seemed to make perfect sense. Our blog will eventually become a replacement to our inspiration server, and will be just as well organised and searchable, so its a great solution for us.

  Our blog also serves as a fantastic platform to engage in conversation about creativity and design, and provides us the opportunity to continually practice our art – creative storytelling.

  What’s the vision?
  We believe our blog will find its own path, and for as long as it gives us enjoyment creating it and keeps us off the streets – we’re happy. If people get something out of it, and enjoy reading it – then the vision is complete in our eyes.
